Discovering your Heritage

(And Passing It On To Your Descendants)

Who were your ancestors? Where did they come from? Why did they first leave their homes? What was the legacy they wanted to pass on to you, their descendant?

Do you, your parents or your children know the answers to these questions? If not, you all should. It is up to us, their descendants, to ensure that our ancestors' history does not die with them.

It is this history that I want to help you uncover and then pass on to your children and their children.

There are many ways that I can help you accomplish this, depending upon where you wish to start and where you would like to finish.

  • Research: I have access to three well-stocked genealogy libraries within 20 miles of my office and access to high-speed Internet genealogy libraries throughout the Unites States. I have made extensive research trips throughout Florida, Georgia, and Alabama and as far north as the Carolina's. I charge for mileage to the library, but if I come up empty, there is no charge for my time.
  • Organization of material: Perhaps you have already completed your research but do not have the time or the expertise to organize your research material. I have more than twenty years experience of organizational skills to assist you in putting the story of your ancestors together and telling their story.
  • Photographs: Share those prized and precious photographs passed on to you by your ancestors with relatives and future generations. I have more than ten years experience working with Adobe Photoshop®. Turn black and white photographs into sepia color, cropping unwanted elements out of the photograph and more.

  • Stories and Family Lore: Share with family, friends, and relatives those many family anecdotes and stories that were passed from generation to generation and finally passed on to you. One or two of those stories may be a slight stretch of the truth, but they will make great reading for family members.
  • Media: Share the results of your many hours of research with family friends and relatives. There are several ways that we can accomplish this and do so without investing an arm and a leg. Once again, this depends upon how you wish to preserve the history of your ancestors.

Web Site: A web site is usually a work in progress. You can continuously add to or update your research information. You can add new families as your additional research uncovers them. I have three genealogy database products that I work from: (1) Reunion®, (2) The Master Genealogist® (3) Family Tree Maker®. I can transfer your data into one of my programs via a GEDCOM, then copy, and paste the output into a web site template. You can display your valuable photographs here for all to view. Take a moment to browse through my web site to see how you might present your ancestors.

You might also want to check out a small business web site that I created for a client. This site is for a teacher at a local school and updated frequently because of the free study material offered for children.

Family Book: If you are not into the Internet and prefer to put your writing skill to work, then publish your own family history book. I can assist you with all phases of getting the book written, printed, and even shipped to your relatives. The following URL will give you a sneak-peek into the book I had printed for my family and close friends.

I would be very pleased to assist you in researching your family or assisting you in getting your countless hours of research into published form, whether it is by the Internet or in book form. I have fifteen years experience in genealogy research and more that twenty years experience with computers and graphics. My rates are very reasonable as I am retired and do not have to depend upon this work in order to enjoy my retirement.
